The short version
- Bioethanol fireplaces run on liquid bioethanol. A full tank lasts roughly 7 to 10 hours at the highest flame, longer on lower settings. Fill only when the burner is cold, or let an automatic tank do it.
- Water vapour fireplaces (Hybrid Mist) run on electricity and demineralised water. A full tank lasts two days or more of use.
- Both carry a 24-month warranty, which depends on correct use, the right fuel or water, and service by an authorised technician.
We do not publish prices, because every Decoflame fireplace is made to measure. But you can work out the running logic yourself from the published figures below.
Bioethanol: what goes in the burner
Bioethanol is a renewable, plant-based liquid fuel. It burns with a real flame and releases heat, water vapour and a small amount of carbon dioxide, with no smoke, soot or ash. That is why a Decoflame bioethanol fireplace needs no chimney, no flue and no gas line.
Bioethanol fuel is easy to buy in the Gulf, online and in shops. Choose a quality bioethanol made for fireplaces.
Use the fuel recommended for your fireplace. We advise on this for every project.
How long a fill lasts
These figures come from Decoflame’s official datasheets, at the highest flame level:
| Burner | Tank | Burn time at maximum flame | Roughly, per hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Denver F6, 1,020 mm | 6.5 L | 7.3 h | 0.9 L |
| Denver F6, 1,120 mm | 7.2 L | 7.0 h | 1.0 L |
| LogicWood Linear, 920 mm | 6.6 L | 9.5 h | 0.7 L |
The last column is simple division (tank ÷ burn time), so treat it as a guide. The automatic burners have six flame levels, including ECO. Most evenings in a majlis or living room do not need the highest flame, and a lower level stretches the same fill further.
In practice, for a typical evening of three or four hours, one fill comfortably covers the night, often more than one evening.
Working out the running cost, honestly
Because fuel prices change and every project differs, here is the method rather than a number:
- Litres per hour at full flame: the figure in the table above for your burner.
- Hours of use you expect per week. A family that lights the majlis fire on winter weekends uses far less than a hotel lobby running every evening.
- Price per litre of the bioethanol you buy.
Multiply the three and you have a full-flame weekly cost. Real use on lower flame levels will be lower. During your consultation we run this calculation with you for the burner and the room we are designing.
The 60 L automatic tank
For long burners, hospitality projects or anyone who would rather never handle fuel, Denver F6 and LogicWood can be connected to an optional 60 L automatic tank system, with 10 m of cable and hose. The fuel sits in a cabinet or service room, away from the fire, and the burner is fed automatically.
It is one of the first things we discuss with hotels and with owners of large villas. It is much easier to plan the tank and its route at design stage than to add it later.
Refuelling safely
The one rule that matters most: refuel only when the burner is cold. Never top up a lit fireplace, or one that has just been switched off. Wipe up any spill before you switch it back on.
The automatic burners help here. The Denver F6 has a spill sensor built in: if a spill is detected, the fireplace will not switch on. Lighting is done from the control panel, the remote or the Decoflame app, so nobody brings a lighter near the fuel. Our full guide to bioethanol fireplace safety covers room size and ventilation too.
Water vapour: water and electricity, nothing else
Hybrid Mist atomises demineralised water into a fine mist and lights it with LEDs, so it rises and moves like a flame. It runs entirely on electricity and demineralised water, needs no chimney or flue and gives off no heat, which is why it suits Gulf interiors all year.
Its top plate is heated, so water does not condense on it, one of the few water vapour fireplaces on the market built that way.

How long the water lasts
From Decoflame’s Hybrid Mist datasheet:
| Hybrid Mist | Water tank | Running time per tank | Water use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720 | 6 L | up to 48 hours | about 125 ml/h |
| 920 | 8 L | up to 53 hours | about 150 ml/h |
| 1120 | 10 L | up to 57 hours | about 175 ml/h |
In everyday use that means filling the tank every few days rather than every evening. The Decoflame app shows the remaining running time and level, lets you set the flame intensity and has an automatic switch-off timer.
Why demineralised water matters
This is the one care point we stress to every Hybrid Mist owner. The manual is direct: if non-demineralised water is used, the warranty is void.
Tap water carries minerals, and the parts that turn water into mist are built for demineralised water. Using it keeps the atomizer and pump working as designed. Keep a supply at home, and make sure anyone who refills the fireplace, including household staff, knows to use only that.
The parts that wear, and the warranty
Like any device with moving parts and water, Hybrid Mist has parts the manual lists as wear parts: the atomizer, seals, pump, fan, LED and display label. The atomizer is covered for 2 years or 2,000 operating hours, whichever comes first.
For both fireplace types, Decoflame gives a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase against faults in materials or workmanship. Two conditions protect it:
- The right fuel or water: the bioethanol recommended for your burner, and only demineralised water in Hybrid Mist.
- Authorised service: warranty repairs must be fitted by an authorised Decoflame technician.
The warranty is written for normal domestic use. If you are specifying fireplaces for a hotel, restaurant or other commercial space, we agree the service and warranty terms with you in writing as part of the project. Our hotel specification guide explains more.
Service and support in the Gulf
Warranty claims go to the dealer you bought from, and that is us. You deal with one local team that knows your installation, backed by the factory in Vestbjerg, Denmark, where Decoflame has made fireplaces since 2008. Where useful, the factory can diagnose an automatic burner remotely, and Decoflame publishes service video guides for everyday questions.
A simple routine
Bioethanol
- Fill only when cold. Wipe any spill before switching on.
- Use the recommended fuel; keep it stored safely, away from heat.
- Use lower flame levels when the room does not need the full flame.
- Keep the room ventilated while the fire is lit.
Water vapour
- Demineralised water only, every time.
- Refill every few days, depending on use.
- Leave servicing and wear-part replacement to our authorised team.
Choosing with this in mind
If you love a real flame and are happy with a simple refuelling routine, or want an automatic tank, bioethanol is for you. If you want the look of fire all year with nothing more than a jug of demineralised water, water vapour is. Our guide to bioethanol or water vapour compares them room by room.
See the bioethanol fireplaces and water vapour fireplaces, or book a private design consultation. We will plan the burner, the fuel or water supply and the service with you before anything is made.
